Trips on the water in the Sarthe

The Rivières de l’Ouest is the name of the longest navigable network of rivers in France. Some 283 km of waterways await, inviting you to discover bucolic landscapes and enjoy a gentle and relaxing mode of transport. Enjoy these pleasures during your stay at the Hotel Le Mans Country Club.

A timeless journey on the Rêveuse de Saint-Nicolas

To begin your discovery of the Sarthe, why not embark on the Rêveuse de Saint-Nicolas? This traditional flat-bottomed toue sablière river craft is of a kind that was once a common sight along the Loire. Today, the Rêveuse de Saint-Nicolas invites you to explore the Sarthe from Le Mans or Malicorne. Several kinds of trips are available. It all depends on your preferences. From 45-minute discovery tours to PICNIC Mans'eau voyages of 4 to 6 hours, via aperitif outings, the choice is yours. You can also privately hire the boat for up to 8 passengers. Jean-Yves, your captain, will share with you all his knowledge of the environment and the history of his region and its rivers.

Navigate the rivers at your own pace

You can rent an electric boat from the port of Le Mans or the riverside town of La Suze-sur-Sarthe and you don’t need a licence to do so. This is your opportunity to explore the medieval canals of La Ferté-Bernard. The more athletic can head to Juigné-sur-Sarthe to indulge in the pleasures of canoeing and follow the original routes put together by Terre Activ'. Or, if you prefer to stay on dry land, the towpaths are pretty easy routes for walking and enjoying a bit of fresh air.

La Sarthe is a region full of surprises. To discover its historical and natural heritage, set off along its rivers and see where they take you. The Hotel Le Mans Country Club team is happy to tell you all you need to know.
