The exhibitions in Sarthe not to be missed this November
With autumn well underway and the days getting shorter, it's time to enjoy some indoor cultural activities. Fortunately, such activities are numerous in Le Mans and Sarthe in November. Why not discover some of them during your bucolic stay at the Hotel Le Mans Country Club?
The history of our region since the dawn of time…
Two exhibitions this autumn reflect the long history - and prehistory - of our region. The first is offered by the Musée Vert and is entitled Giants: In the Time of the Dinosaurs. You can admire fossils of all kinds of dinosaurs that have been found in the region, including some on loan from the largest collections in France. Fast forward several millions of years as the Musée JC Boulard – Carré Plantagenêt showcases the magnificent Gallo-Roman enclosure of the city of Le Mans, the best preserved from this period. This is an opportunity to learn more about the daily life of the city’s inhabitants during the 4th and 5th centuries AD.
Beyond Le Mans
Less than ten minutes by car from the Hotel Le Mans Country Club is the charming little village of Yvré-l'Evêque and the sumptuous Royal Abbey of Epau. Every year for the past ten years, the place has hosted an open-air photo exhibition, this year entitled Heritage on Stage, Sensitive Heritage. The Abbey is the subject of the work of six artists who capture the play of light and capture the various moods of the building and its environment. Finally, the Priory of Vivoin is currently hosting large-format installations by Andrea Ravo Mattoni. The artist has reinterpreted the great works of classical painting and depth, delicacy of line, and emotions emerge from these monumental creations.
During your autumn break at the Hotel Le Mans Country Club, you can discover the extent of the Sarthe cultural scene. Don’t miss these fascinating and original exhibitions!
