Walks for all preferences

From the Cité Plantagenêt, which offers superb walks that will take you back through time, to the beautiful deep forests of Bercé and Perseigne, which you can visit by mountain bike, on foot or on horseback, there are numerous ways to explore Le Mans and its surroundings during your stay at the Hotel Le Mans Country Club. There are numerous walking routes, with some 3,600 km marked and mapped and seven long distance hiking trails (GR) that cross the department. Many thematic routes have also been created, allowing you to discover the heritage of the area’s villages, the emblematic landscapes of the Mancelles Alps or the tasty gastronomic specialties of the region...

Some of our favourite walks in Le Mans...

There are so many good walks to choose from in Le Mans. Firstly, we recommend a recently established loop around a newly created park on a former industrial wasteland in Le Mans: ‘From the Île aux Planches to Gué de Maulny’. Urban but nonetheless delightful!
Then, for an intriguing change of pace, a stroll along the sunken lanes of Coulaines is essential. Four loops taking from an hour to an hour and a half to complete allow you to discover this pretty corner of the countryside.
Or, for a family tour in a carriage, on bicycles or on foot, head to the Arche de la Nature park a few minutes from Le Mans, where you’ll experience the tranquillity and wonders of nature...

The Sarthe is full of natural, heritage and gastronomic attractions. Discover them at your own pace via the walking routes in and around Le Mans.
