Art in all its forms at Les Quinconces-L'Espal

The national stage and venue of Le Mans, Les Quinconces-L'Espal presents a wide range of shows and artistic projects. Spotlighting eclectic inspirations, these two innovative cultural spaces promise plenty of diverse entertainment and enlightenment and are accessible from the Mans Country Club.

Les Quinconces-L'Espal; cultural spaces at the cutting edge of art

Les Quinconces-L'Espal are two places dedicated to promoting art. Created in 1995, L'Espal awaits you in the Sablons district. As for the Théâtre Les Quinconces, its state-of-the-art glass walled architecture has been a major feature of the city centre since 2014. This double national stage and venue offers several performance halls and exhibition spaces. It also welcomes artists in residence and provides a platform they can use to express their talent.

Raising the curtain on the main shows

The Quinconces-L'Espal programme alternates plays, opera, music, dance, puppet and circus shows. Contemporary creations rub shoulders with a more classical repertoire. If you’re a music lover, don’t miss the concert by the clarinettist and saxophonist, Michel Portal, and the pianist, Baptiste Trotignon, scheduled for March 28th. If you like to be surprised, check out Encatation, a show that’s also a culinary experiment, playing from April 8th to 11th, 2020. It’s a nourishing collaboration between artist Johann Le Guillerm and star chef Alexandre Gauthier.

Visual arts in the spotlight

From January 10th to March 21st, 2020, the exhibition La Route d’or (The Golden Route) unveils creations based around the theme of the city and the countryside. Among the flagship events, don’t miss the fascinating videos by the artist Hicham Berrada. They make science a work of art through chemical reactions that produce landscapes. The vernissage featuring the works of Cristine Guinamand and Séverine Hubard will also be well worth a visit. With its abstract paintings and sculptures created with recycled materials, this exhibition will make you want to share your impressions on our website.
